Rather than picking up the pieces after a break-in occurs, it’s best (and easiest) to take preventive measures. As a business owner, you have much to protect. From expensive equipment, to important documents, to invaluable employees and more, the safety of your business rests in your hands. Thanks to CPI’s business security services – and a few do-it-yourself tips – you can enjoy peace of mind.

But business security doesn’t stop at CPI’s business security packages. Being proactive is the best form of prevention. The following do-it-yourself tips will ensure your establishment is fully protected from burglary.

Doors & Windows – Similar to family security, your business should be surrounded with updated doors and windows. Doors should be made up of solid construction, including hinges and jambs. All windows should consist of burglar-resistant glass and secure locks, as well as meet fire-code requirements.

Business Alarm Monitoring – CPI is the largest locally owned-and-operated security company in the Southeast. Our business security services include a central monitoring station, around-the-clock customer service, video surveillance, fast response times, access control, 24-hour monitoring, intrusion and fire and carbon monoxide detection, full-time security professionals and more.

Adequate Lighting – Most (if not all) burglars prefer to work in the dark. Security lights-both indoor and outdoor-provide sufficient after-hours lighting and will deter potential intruders.

Exterior of Building – Check the roof, walls and basement of your building and secure any exposed areas. Don’t place anything in front of or near the building that would block full visibility.

Key Access – Always keep a record of who has access to building keys, as well as identification/account numbers, security codes, parking cards and more. When an employee leaves the job, reclaim important property belonging to your company. What’s more, regularly change access/security codes.

To learn more about CPI’s superior business security services and <a

A Cellular backup system will automatically switch over to an alarm monitoring provider, so a digital communicator or telephone tape dialer can still assist in sending an emergency call to a central alarm station through the cellular system.

During a burglary, fire or medical emergency, these systems assist in promptly notifying authorities to immediately respond. Receiving a quick response in these urgent situations is critical, so making sure that you have a quality cellular backup system should always be a top priority.

Cellular backup systems have many advantages. They allow you to easily connect to your home monitoring system from any mobile device. They also give you the ability to have control at your fingertips for a rapid emergency response where alarm signals will be transmitted to your central alarm station, even if your phone line is cut.

Telephone line tampering used to be rare, but it has become more commonplace. Cellular backup systems are ideal for security systems where the phone lines are vulnerable to attack, such as thieves cutting through your telephone line during a burglary. They can also be used to monitor alarm systems in areas without telephone service.

Your telephone line might be the weakest link in your security system. A digital cellular backup unit will attempt to get the signal through, even if your telephone line is disabled. Cellular backup systems automatically detect the outage of the land-based telephone system, in turn providing an output signal to a latching relay. The latching relay causes the activation of a pair of switching relays to automatically switch the connection of the alarm communicator of the land-based system to a cellular system.

CELLULAR BACKUP SYSTEM INSTALLATION OPTIONS

Always on the cutting edge and looking for the next phase in the security industry, CPI offers many options in home safety systems including cellular backup systems. One of the most important parts of any security system is professional 24-hour security alarm monitoring for quick emergency response. Only professional safety monitoring can guarantee that police and paramedics will be alerted when home security system is triggered.

Don’t waste precious, valuable time! Protect yourself from an unexpected emergency situation. Make the decision to safeguard you and your loved ones with CPI cellular backup systems. Rest assured knowing CPI will be there 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year for your safety.

Let a professional CPI representative assess which option best suites your needs with a free home evaluation today!

<a

Feel safe again with a remote key fob to trigger your home alarm system. A remote key fob allows you to disarm your home security alarm system from a distance without entering your pass code and can go on your key chain to allow you immediate access in activating and deactivating your house alarm system.

Remote key fobs have many advantages. They are great for activating your home alarm system when you have your hands full upon entering or leaving your home. They also work well when you want to arm your system from any room in your home without being right next to your alarm system.

You can arm your home alarm monitoring right before you go to bed and ensure that your family and home remain safe from intruders. Remote key fobs even include a “panic” button that activates the house alarm and alerts the proper authorities in the event of an emergency.

During a burglary, fire or medical emergency, remote key fobs assist in promptly notifying authorities to immediately respond. Receiving a quick response in these urgent situations is critical, so making sure that you have a quality, workable remote key fob should always be a top priority.

One of the most important parts of any security system is dedicated, professional 24-hour security alarm monitoring for rapid emergency response. Only professional safety monitoring can guarantee that police and paramedics will be alerted when you trigger your security alarm system from your remote key fob.

REMOTE KEY FOB OPTIONS

There are many reasons why you should choose a CPI to monitor your home or business. Since 2003, CPI has invested nine million dollars to create the most advanced central alarm monitoring station in the country, located in Charlotte North Carolina, where we provide dedicated, 24-hour safety monitoring. At it’s most basic level, it converts motion into an electric signal that then causes the monitoring system to determine whether or not there is a threat.

An added benefit with today’s motion detectors is the use of PIR/Microwave Motion Detectors that contain Pet-Immune functions, allowing for the size and rate of speed thereby reducing the chance of a false alarm.

Motion Detection & Your Pet

CPI offers standard & Pet Friendly Motion Detectors. Our pet friendly motion detectors analyze the size, speed and shape of the electrical signal, so it’s able to discriminate small pets or rodents from intruders. Protect your home or business with a motion detector.

CPI has been protecting families and businesses with security systems since 1976 and is the largest locally owned and operated Security Company in the Southeast. Motion detectors is just one feature of our business and home alarm systems.

<a

As more and more Americans find themselves waiting in line at the unemployment office, fear turns into desperation. The rate of home invasion increases in a declining economy, and a comprehensive home security system becomes more important than ever before.

In addition to an alarm system, you should also implement basic residential security practices to prevent burglary. The following checklist consists of simple steps to optimize your home’s safety, as well as the safety of you and your loved ones.

10 Easy and Inexpensive Home Security Best Practices

Install outdoor lighting around entrances, in the yard, and by the mailbox. Consider motion detector lights, as they are triggered by the intruder’s movements.

Tidy up your landscape by trimming bushes and hedges, as well as mowing the lawn on a regular basis. This eliminates potential hiding spots.

Update your locks and install deadbolts on main entrances.

Similar to your locks, replace any hollow-core doors with solid wood or steel doors. These are much more difficult to break down.

Never leave the garage door opener in your car–an intruder can easily break in, open the garage and literally walk into the house.

For maximum residential security, one of the best things you can do is change your routine. Burglars don’t typically strike without knowing your daily schedule. Therefore, switch it up: come home for lunch every so often, set your stereo on a timer, have a friend stop by in the evening from time to time, etc. To stop a burglar from planning a break-in, confusion is key.

If you’re planning on taking a trip, ask a neighbor to pick up your mail and newspapers.

Get a watchdog. Dogs aren’t called a man’s best friend for no reason–they are loyal to their masters and fiercely guard their territory.

Join your neighborhood watch for improved home security. If you don’t have a watch program, consider starting one.

Ensure your doors and windows are locked every night before going to bed. While this seems like a no-brainer, it’s often overlooked.

CPI – The Best in Home Security

You may not know when someone is plotting to invade your home, but you can prevent it from taking place. Since 1976, CPI has provided home security to residents in Greenville, South Carolina; and Raleigh, Charlotte and Greensboro, North Carolina. What’s more, it’s likely your business establishment is occupied with technological equipment, legal documents, records and, most importantly, employees. Business security is not an option in today’s world–it’s a requirement.

First and foremost, you need to secure your business with a reliable, no-fail alarm system. Research several security companies to determine which one is best for your business. If you’re unsure of what to look for, the following list reveals the basic features of a monitored business security system.

Control panel – Where things like wiring, backup battery and phone-line connection are located.

Siren – Notifies you of a break-in, but also wards off the intruder.

Keypad – Where system is armed/disarmed.

Indoor motion detector – Detects human movement and presence.

Window and door detectors – Alarm is triggered when a door or window is opened.

Central monitoring – All business security systems consist of a central monitoring station, which is where the company’s headquarters are located. When set off, the control panel sends a message to the monitoring location, which is supervised 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

You can add other elements to your alarm system to ensure complete business security, including a smoke detector, video surveillance, closed-circuit television, panic button, broken glass detectors and more. But protecting your business establishment, assets and employees doesn’t stop at a comprehensive monitoring system; there are simple steps you can take to prevent burglary.

Keep a record of who has keys to the establishment.

Hire security officers to patrol the building.

Install dead bolt locks on all entryways.

Similar to your home, implement a business security plan in case a break-in does occur.

Ensure there is adequate lighting in and around the establishment. Also, install motion light detectors outside of the building.

Make sure your business is easily seen from the street (i.e. trim bushes and hedges, cut back landscape, etc.).

Install a doorbell or chime that notifies you when someone has entered the building.

CPI – The Best in Business Security

For over 20 years, CPI Security Systems has protected businesses in the Carolinas.
